SSLD Functions at 25 V

Catalyst CAT4101Working as a low dropout driver (LDD), Catalyst Semiconductor’s CAT4101 linear-based constant-current SSLD operates with a LED pin compatible up to 25 V. The 5-lead TO-263-packaged component drives strings of up to 10 LEDs adjustable to 1 A. The driver offers current sink of 1 A via an external resistor, dropout voltage of 500 mV, high resolution PWM dimming, an “instant-on” PWM control mode and thermal shutdown protection. The device is suitable for architectural, automotive and general LED lighting products. Pricing is $0.98 each in 10,000 quantities.
