Audio Resistor Reduces Signal Distortion
Designed to provide increased clarity in audio circuits, the Z-Foil audio resistor from Vishay provides a typical TCR of ±0.2 ppm/°C from -55°C to +125°C (+25°C ref.), a PCR ("?R due to self heating") of 5 ppm at rated power, an absolute tolerance of 0.01%, and a current noise of less than -40 dB. Using an encapsulation- and molding-free configuration, the "naked Z-foil" resistor has a non-inductive (less than 0.08 µH), non-hot-spot construction with a load-life stability of ±0.01% for 2000 hours at +70°C, a voltage coefficient of less than 0.1 ppm/V, and a thermal EMF of less than 0.05 µV/°C. The parts are available in a resistance range from 10 to 100 kO, with any value at any tolerance available through calibration. The rise time is 1.0 ns without ringing. The resistors can withstand electrostatic discharges exceeding 25 kV, and is available with Pb-free or tin/lead alloy terminal finishes. Pricing for U.S. delivery starts at $4.26.
