Network Controller with Quad Fast Ethernet

MEN Micro, Inc. announced its model F211 single-slot, 3U, CompactPCI network controller with quad fast Ethernet (QFE) for expanded control of multiple network configurations including firewalls, gateways, routers and fieldbus data concentrators based on industrial Ethernet. This 32-bit, 33 MHz controller is qualified for an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F), making it suitable for harsh and mobile applications. This IEEE 802.3u-compliant network controller features four full-duplex/half-duplex channels that support 10Base-T and 100Base-TX physical layers, and it provides auto-negotiation, collision and link detection with a maximum data transfer of 200 Mbits/s per channel. Each of the four channels has a MAC/IP address, enabling it to function in a redundant mode when the lines are used in parallel.
