Are You Googlin' My Way?

e_arrows.jpggplug [1]Productive Product: Google.org [1] is giving up to $11 million for hybrid vehicle research, with the goal of developing plug-in vehicles capable of reaching 70 to 100 miles per gallon.  Google also hopes the project, dubbed RechargeIT [2], will lead to development of energy systems where drivers could sell extra power back to the grid.  Initial recipients of the funds include the Brookings Institution [3], CalCars [4], Plug-In America [5], the Electrical Power Research Institute [6], the Rocky Mountain Institute [7], and Dr. Willett Kempton [8] from the University of Delaware.
