Adobe Systems Inc. said Thursday that it bought Behance, a social media company that lets designers, artists and other creative professionals show their work online.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Adobe said the deal will help boost its efforts to bring community features to its Creative Cloud service, which lets people subscribe to download programs such as Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator, store work online and share files with others.

Adobe's stock climbed 9 cents to $37.96 in after-hours trading after closing down 22 cents at $37.87.
