The NPD Group Expands Technology Analyst Business and Marketing Teams

Santa Clara, Calif., February 3, 2012The NPD Group today announced significant expansions to its global technology analyst business and marketing teams in an effort to better support its growing global client base. Specifically, the company has added four market analystsRiddhi Patel, Jimmy Kim, Steven Han and Jeffrey Songas well as a new Director of Marketing, Raj Misra, PhD.

The NPD Group continues to expand its coverage of the ever-changing global display, electronics and solar supply chains to closely track new technologies, follow growing markets, and stay ahead of evolving product categories, said Paul Semenza, Senior Vice President for Analyst Services. Our newest team members will bolster our comprehensive global market research offerings.

Riddhi Patel, NPD DisplaySearch Research Director, Consumer Insights

With more than 13 years of expertise in market research and analytics, consumer insights, and consulting, Riddhi Patel joined NPD DisplaySearch with extensive marketing, strategy formulation and analysis, and product marketing experience. She was previously Director of Television Systems at IHS iSuppli. She earned her MBA from South Gujarat University and a Bachelor of Science from Maharaja Sayajirao University. At NPD DisplaySearch, Jimmy Kim will be in charge of display materials and LED analysis at the Korea office. Before joining the company, he worked in research and development at Samsung, and earned a PhD from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University. Jimmy is located in The NPD Groups Seoul, Korea office. Steven Han, NPD Solarbuzz Analyst

Steven Han is responsible for research and analysis of downstream PV market developments in the Greater China region for NPD Solarbuzz. He tracks and analyzes solar incentive policies, markets, downstream channels, and major projects. He previously worked at Suntech Power, Applied Materials, and Semiconductor Precision Machinery. He is a graduate of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Steven is located in The NPD Groups Shanghai, China office. Jeffrey Song, NPD In-Stat Analyst

As an analyst at NPD In-Stat, Jeffrey Song is responsible for market and industry research of digital entertainment, including connected TVs, Blu-ray players, video game consoles, and set top boxes (STBs) in China and Taiwan. Prior to joining NPD In-Stat, he worked at 3DiJoy, AverMedia, and INVENTEC. He has a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering and automation from Shandong University of Science and Technology. Steven is located in The NPD Groups Shanghai, China office. Raj Misra, The NPD Group Director of Marketing

Raj Misra heads product marketing, brand strategy, and public relations for NPD DisplaySearch, In-Stat, and Solarbuzz. With more than 15 years of marketing leadership experience, his expertise covers all facets of integrated global marketing, including branding, market research, advertising, digital marketing, public relations, and competitive strategy. Raj has held marketing leadership positions at Microsoft, Pratt & Whitney, Chubb, and Fiat. He has an undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a doctorate in consumer marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. Raj is located in The NPD Groups Santa Clara, Calif. office.
