Los Alamos National Laboratory has signed a high tech research agreement with EMC Corporation.
Under the agreement signed this week, Los Alamos and EMC will design and test new technologies in data storage, cyber security, and high-performance computing. The agreement also calls for them to collaborate on cloud computing, large-scale analytics, and materials science.
The first project will focus on U.S. Department of Energy's data intensive programs.
Alan Bishop, principal associate director for Science, Technology, and Engineering at the lab, said collaborations like the one between Los Alamos and EMC are at the cutting edge of science and engineering research.
