CACI International Inc. said Monday that William Fairl, the company's president of U.S. operations, plans to retire effective Sept. 1, 2012.

As part of a transition plan, the Arlington, Va.-based government contractor said Fairl will move to the role of chief development officer effective Jan. 1 and Daniel Allen, CACI's chief operating officer, will become president of U.S. operations.

Fairl joined CACI in 1987 as a program manager and moved through a variety of executive positions before being named chief operating officer in 2004 and president of U.S. operations in 2007.

Allen joined CACI as chief operating officer in March 2011. Before that, he served as sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's intelligence systems division, the company said.
