Citrix Systems Inc. said Thursday that it has acquired a company called ShareFile, whose technology is used for storing and sharing work documents.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Citrix makes "virtualization" software and other workplace technologies. It said ShareFile's products will help create "personal clouds" for workers, referring to ways for employees to access data remotely over the Internet, which in industry jargon is called computing in the "cloud."
The price of the deal wasn't disclosed.
Shares rose 22 cents to $62.34.
