Dr. Wassall brings to Samsung an extensive knowledge of networked video and access control solutions and a background in IT security and network design. He will manage the sales and development aspects of Samsung's IP Technology and Security product portfolio. Dr. Wassall will work with Samsung's field management teams to increase sales of the IP Security product line and to develop and maintain high levels of product value and industry recognition. “I was surprised to learn how complete Samsung's network product line is,” said Dr. Wassall. “Once I realized the extent of Samsung's network offerings, I saw a great opportunity to help them get the word out. Samsung is well-positioned as an industry leader based on the global company's ongoing commitment to technology excellence. It's the industry's best kept secret, and I look forward to changing that.”

Previous employers also include SBC DataCom, where Dr. Wassall was Vice President of national integrations services (1999-2003); and GECO Systems, where he recently served as Director of systems engineering (2011).

Dr. Wassall's education background includes a Ph.D. in information technology from Webster University. He is a CISCO Network Professional, Certified Cyber Forensics Specialist, Certified P.E., and is Pelco- and OnSSI-certified.

”No one is better equipped to lead our very important IP business initiative than Edward Wassall,” said Mr. DeFina. “The use of network systems is transforming the video surveillance and access control markets, and Ed's background, knowledge and industry profile will be a great addition to the growing Samsung IP team during an exciting time for the company.”
