A basic technology found in webcams may have the potential to help out on the medical front, allowing drug makers and physicians to take a closer look at the development of the common drug side effect cardiotoxicity.
Researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston recently used an image sensor from a webcam to create a tool that looks in real time at the effects of medications on heart cells known as cariomyocytes.
