In the implementation, Aeroflex and fjord e-design demonstrated TEDS Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) signals with 64QAM modulation and 8 sub-channels in a channel bandwidth of 50 kHz being generated and analyzed, including the generation and analysis of the defined T4 test signal per the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) TEDS standard.
“With this new option, Aeroflex is able to support TETRA engineers in production and in the field to support the new TEDS Air Interface just as the first commercially available products hit the broader market,” said Tom Riedl, Aeroflex product manager, Ismaning, Germany. “By cooperating with fjord-e-design and taking their reference class protocol stacks on board for our instruments, Aeroflex is again proving leadership in TETRA testing.”
The new option for the 3920 Digital Radio Test Set was developed in a joint project with fjord-e-design, a TETRA focused, engineering company located in Flensburg, Germany. fjord e-design offers reference-class protocol stacks for TETRA and other Private Mobile Radio (PMR) standards to the industry.
