Momenta hits Teva with IP lawsuit

Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. alleging two cases of patent infringement, according to a Momenta press release. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
The affected patents relate to Momenta’s IP in making enoxaparin sodium, a generic version of Lovenox, Sanofi-aventis’ name-brand treatment for prevent blood clots in the leg. One patent covers the processing of the drug and the other covers the analysis methods of the drug.
