Medical Design Technology

There are many BIG ideas for these small devices but product development can be hindered by obstacles such as the application specific nature, low volume production and specialist packaging requirements. Despite this some very successful MEMS products have penetrated the mass market and the uptake of MEMS is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

This IMAPS-UK Technical Seminar being supported by the IeMRC will investigate the MEMS product development chain from research, design and development through to packaging and test, exploring techniques which help to address these challenges. The event will provide the opportunity for:   •    Updates on the latest MEMS developments & technologies •    Networking between end-users, supply chains and technology providers •    Business development opportunities for your Company & its products   Presenting companies and institutions include:   Keynote Presentation: Yole Développement - MEMS Manufacturing & Packaging Trends   Heriot-Watt University - SMART MICROSYSTEMS: a flagship project form the IeMRC   BAE Systems - Producing MEMS devices for niche applications in modest volumes   Optocap - Packaging of MEMS   Teradyne - Testing of MEMS Devices   Semefab - Requirements for MEMS Manufacture   iSLI - MEMS and Wireless sensor networks for condition monitoring applications   Unisem  - MEMS Manufacturing in the UK Achieving Excellence   Selex Galileo - Taking MEMS to new markets     Table top exhibition & Poster display: In addition, there is a complementary tabletop exhibition showcasing leading companies in the field and Poster displays from MEMS related University projects throughout the UK.   Who should attend: End Users, Research & Development Engineers, Scientists, Production & Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain Companies, Process Engineers, Product Designers & Students   The event is open to all, including non IMAPS-UK members; however recent IMAPS-UK events have sold-out and early bookings are recommended.
