Look College to host Discover Engineering Oct. 23
The event, which is one of hundreds of satellite events being hosted across the country, begins at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m.
The event is designed to give students, parents and teachers a chance to have a closer look at engineering at Texas A&M. Participants will be able to view a flight simulator demonstration, train like an astronaut, play against Slashbot, the Guitar Hero-playing robot, and tour various engineering laboratories. Representatives from the Texas A&M Office of Admissions will also be on hand to answer participants’ questions about applying to the university.
The College of Science is also participating in the event and will be hosting Big Physics Day as well as the Chemistry Open House and Exploration Gallery.
The 2010 USA Science & Engineering Festival is a new national initiative intended to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. The national festival begins Oct. 10 and concludes on Oct. 23 at Washington D.C.’s National Mall.
