HP names former 3Par CEO to new post
Hewlett-Packard Co. said Wednesday it has named David Scott, the former CEO of recently-acquired data storage company 3Par Inc., as senior vice president and general manager for HP StorageWorks.
HP acquired 3Par for $2.35 billion last month, outbidding Dell Inc. for the Fremont, Calif., company.
HP is counting on 3Par to help build up its data storage ability and cloud computing businesses, which deliver software, data storage and other services to customers over the Internet.
Before 3Par, Scott had been general manager of the XP enterprise storage business for HP StorageWorks, the company said.
