Statistics play a crucial role in the policy making process - government officials need good data to make informed decisions. At the OECD, 200+ statisticians compile, analyze and disseminate the statistical data at the centre of the Organisation’s evidence-based policy advice to governments.
Commemoration of UN World Statistics Day at the OECD will revolve on the theme, “Better Data for Better Policies.” A series of presentations will demonstrate innovative OECD statistical work, including new analytical tools to assess progress toward Green Growth, to compare education systems or measure the impact of innovation policy.
The OECD’s World Statistics Day event is open to journalists, and will be followed by a cocktail.
