Dan Sheflin of Honeywell Named Chairman of Federal Smart Grid Advisory Committee

Honeywell announced that Dan Sheflin, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS), has been named Chairman of the Smart Grid Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NIST is the federal organization with primary responsibility to coordinate the development of protocols and standards for the development of the Smart Grid.

The committee is composed of representatives from U.S. industry, academia, trade and professional organizations. It will advise NIST Director Patrick Gallagher on the direction of NIST Smart Grid-related programs and activities and help the agency maximize its technical contributions to modernizing and securing the U.S. electric power grid.
