Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it has received a contract from General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) to provide rotary potentiometers for the U.S. Army’s STRYKER armored combat vehicle. The estimated value of the contract is up to $300 thousand per year for the lifetime of the STRYKER vehicles, and includes the retrofitting of existing STRYKER vehicles. The rotary potentiometer sensors are located in the suspension of the STRYKER and provide feedback for ride, height, and control.

“Curtiss-Wright’s hybrid potentiometer technology will enhance the performance of the STRYKER combat vehicle’s suspension system,” said David Adams, co-chief operating officer of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. “We are very pleased that our rotary potentiometers have been selected by General Dynamics Land Systems.”

The contract calls for delivery of the rotary potentiometers beginning in the fourth quarter of 2010. Curtiss-Wright will develop the potentiometers at its Penny + Giles, Christchurch, UK facility, and will ship the systems to GDLS, in London, Ontario, Canada.
