Logibec Announces Changes in Board of Directors and Management
Logibec Groupe Informatique Ltd. (TSX: LGI) ("Logibec" or the "Company") announced today changes in its Board of Directors and Senior Management.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Andre Gauthier, announced that Jean-Francois Sabourin was appointed as a director at its Annual General Shareholders' Meeting held today. He is replacing Andre Paiement who resigned from his position of director on March 16, 2010. The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Paiement for the services that he has provided as an active director of the Board of Directors over the last 24 years.
Mr. Sabourin is President and Chief Executive Officer of FinLogiK Inc., a software company specialized in financial transactions management. He holds a BBA from HEC Montreal and is a CFA charter holder. Prior to 2003, Mr. Sabourin held senior positions in the derivatives structuring group at various large investment banks. Mr. Sabourin is a member of the board of directors, the audit committee and the human resources committee of Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc.
Claude Roy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Logibec, announces that Gilles Laporte, Senior Vice-President - Business Development, has decided to retire as of September 7, 2010. He will remain a member of the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Laporte has been with Logibec since 2001. For almost 10 years as one of Logibec's senior executives, he has played a leading role in the Company's growth and in building customer loyalty. On behalf of the other members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Roy would like to thank Mr. Laporte for his contribution to Logibec's success.
Claude Roy is also pleased to announce the appointment of Marc. P. Brunet as President and Chief Executive Officer of MDI Achieve, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Logibec. Over the last few years, Mr. Brunet has been directly involved in integrating acquisitions and executing the business strategy which have positioned Logibec as a leading software provider to the eldercare market in the United States. Mr. Brunet will be responsible for ensuring the growth of MDI Achieve and improving its operating margins. Mr. Brunet will retain his position as Logibec's Chief Financial Officer.
