Dell unit inks government contract
Computer and consumer electronics maker Dell Inc. said Thursday that one of its units has inked a more than $65 million contract to provide e-mail management and other services to the Department of Transportation.
Dell Perot Systems Government Services of Fairfax, Va., will be a subcontractor to ActioNet Inc., a small business providing information systems solutions to the federal government and industry clients
The contract supports DOT's common operating environment and is for service delivery over 10 years.
Besides e-mail management services, the Dell unit will provide infrastructure services, hosting services, and program management.
Dell shares rose 8 cents to $15.07 in afternoon trading. Dell is based in Round Rock, Texas.
