Computer Sciences gets 5-year pact extension

Computer Sciences Corp. received a five-year extension on an outsourcing contract with United Technologies Corp., adding more than $1.5 billion to the deal.

The information technology services company said late Thursday that the extension also allows it to expand into new regions with the potential to add another $300 million to the agreement.

Computer Sciences is providing infrastructure support to United Technologies in 22 countries.

The contract expires in December 2019.

United Technologies owns Otis Elevators, Carrier heating and refrigeration, Pratt and Whitney aircraft engines and Sikorsky helicopters, among other businesses.

Shares of Computer Sciences rose 3 cents to $54.47.
