The Joojoo Web-browsing tablet appears on track to reach early buyers at the end of February.

The $499 touch-screen computer is at the center of a Silicon Valley legal dispute. Both a Singapore startup called Fusion Garage and Michael Arrington, a well-known technology blogger, claim ownership of the device. Arrington has sued Fusion Garage in district court in California. The case is pending.

Fusion Garage says a Malaysian mobile device company called CSL Group will subsidize production of the Joojoo in exchange for an undisclosed share of the sales.

The Joojoo will compete with Apple Inc.'s newly unveiled iPad and forthcoming slate-style computers from Hewlett-Packard Co. and others.
