General Dynamics receives $14M US Army contract
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) — Defense contractor General Dynamics said Tuesday it received a $14 million contract from the U.S. Army to purchase tank production materials.
Under the contract from the U.S. Army Tank and Automotive Command, General Dynamics will purchase long-lead materials for 140 M1A1 Situational Awareness tanks for the military's effort in Iraq.
Work for the contract, which runs through May 31, 2011, will be performed in Lima, Ohio; Scranton, Pa.; Anniston, Ala.; and Tallahassee, Fla.
Shares of General Dynamics fell 99 cents to close at $69.67.
