Dual Action Tactile Metal Domes

Ecnmag.com - June 01, 2007

ec76em901b.JPGSnaptron’s IntelliTac dual action domes (DT-Series) are low profile contacts specifically designed to make two independent electrical contacts with one dome. The patent pending technology allows for two separate, progressive contact closures in a single dome switch. The dual contact nature of these dome switches allows the first contact closure to be accomplished with light pressure being applied to the switch. Further pressure applied snaps the dome, making the second contact closure while giving the user the tactile sensation synonymous with traditional metal dome switches. The DT-Series is intended to be an advanced alternative to traditional double action switches, and can be used in digital camcorders, still and video cameras, audio equipment, camera phones and portable devices, and other electronic applications. Metal domes are made of stainless steel, with optional gold or nickel plating. Typical dimensional tolerance is ².005 reference.
