Weidmuller announced recently that its “u-remote” distributed I/O platform meets the requirements for use in the demanding maritime and offshore sectors. U-remote received certification from several classification agencies including DNV GL (formerly Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd), Bureau Veritas, LR Lloyds Register), and Registro Italiano Navale. This certification applies to most areas on a ship, including the ship’s bridge. Weidmuller’s u-remote offers the ability to improve the reliability and efficiency of ship and offshore automation applications. U-remote is a highly integrated, user-friendly I/O platform that combines a high level of performance with optimum system handling. Its robust design is suited to the sensitive and harsh environmental conditions found in maritime and offshore applications.
