Waited till the last second to make your Valentine’s Day plans? Forgot about the day of love entirely? Or maybe you’re snowed in and have to rethink your plans? Not to worry — these five apps, free or inexpensive for multiple operating systems, are ready to save the day. No matter what kind of day you want.

Helpful Romantic for iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch
Don’t have date ideas, but don’t want to rely on an impersonal app? Well, this one tailors eleventh-hour date ideas for Valentine’s directly to your significant other’s personality. You can go out or stay in. Either way, the app generates date and gift ideas based on the information you enter. Even better, it provides step-by-step instructions on how to create them. As an added bonus, the app includes a virtual datebook where you can enter relationship milestones so you’re not down to the wire next time.

Red Stamp for iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch
Forgot to get a card for your Valentine this year? Or are you simply tired of the generic grocery store offerings? This app will help you custom-create your own perfect card in just a few easy steps. It boasts hundreds of unique designs and the ability to write your own message inside. It even makes the delivery easier: After you’re done making your card, the app gives you the option to print it, email it, or text it. ShutterSong for iOs is similar, letting you send audio cards by text, email, or social media.

OpenTable for iPad, iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, or Windows
Scrounging for a romantic dinner reservation? It used to be that you had to make your reservations for Valentine’s Day, and the entire week after, about a month in advance. But for those of you hoping luck will strike so you can make one now, OpenTable is here to help. After you enter your geographic information, the app shows you openings at countless restaurants in your area. It has over 15,000 restaurants in its system overall, including the United States, Canada, and the U.K. And many of those restaurants accept the special points and coupons that are available through the app.

Gravy for iOs or Android
Think a dinner date is too run-of-the-mill? If you’d rather not go to a restaurant but still want an enjoyable (and last-minute) night out, this app can plan it for you. All you have to do is enter your ZIP code and some details of what you’re looking for in your date (something intellectual, something lively, something unusual, etc.), and it will plan your evening. The app is chock-full of event listings and provides you with all the details of location and timing.

Crowded Room for iPad, iPhone, or Android
Don’t have a date, but still want to go out for the holiday? Want to go out, but don’t know where to go? Think of this app as your lightning-speed digital matchmaker. By updating it throughout the night with where you are and where you may go next, you let the app match your details to people with similar interests. This way, you know who to look for in all the red and pink crowds. You can even sync the app with Facebook and Foursquare to easily publicize your check-ins. Consider the app your Cupid for the night. And you can keep using it after Valentine’s Day, too!
