What tools do you need for a space station?

If you think your workbench is impressive, check out some of the tool kits available on the International Space Station. British ISS astronaut Tim Peake posted some pictures of the range of tools the team uses to keep the station up and running. Check out more pictures at Peake's Flickr account.

Though the ISS is kitted out in the most prepared way possible, astronauts also use a variety of MacGyver-esque solutions when problems crop up. For example, in 2012, the crew used a toothbrush (about $3) to solve a power relay problem. They had all the "right" tools, but it was creativity that saved them in the end. Given the extreme environment of space, it's imperative the astronauts have everything they might need, but sometimes, it's about good, old-fashioned, ingenuity.
