ECG sensor detects changes in electric field: in contact, at a distance, through clothing and even through walls

Plessey Semiconductors’ EPIC (electric potential integrated circuit) sensors are optimised for use as an ECG sensor and according to the Plymouth, England based company, they offer resolution as good as or better than conventional electrodes. The company says readings can be taken while in contact with the patient, at a distance, through clothing and even through walls.
