Jason-125OSU has earned top honors at the 2009 finals of the Year One EcoCar competition. The OSU stable bested 16 other teams with their “Extended Range Electric Vehicle” design.

The spiritual successor to Challenge X, EcoCar is a three-year collegiate advanced vehicle technology engineering competition established by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and General Motors (GM), and being managed by Argonne National Laboratory. The MathWorks, a “key sponsor,” recently hosted the Year Two festivities.

In Year Two of EcoCar, students “translate their design into reality and develop a working vehicle that meets the competition’s goals.” The MathWorks recently hosted the Year Two Fall Workshop, a five-day training event held at the company’s headquarters in Natick, MA.
