Op-Ed: I keep seeing articles about energy harvesting, which is the concept of generating electricity from life's daily movements. The latest reference is in this Associated Press story about environmentally friendly nightclubs -- a non-profit group called Enviu is working on a dance floor that captures energy from the vibrations. It's very expensive right now, but what if an entire factory floor included such technology? What if all the computers in New York, London, and Tokyo captured a little bit of energy each time human fingers touched a keyboard's keys and a mouse's buttons? Those would be elegant ways to recycle the energy sitting right in front of us. Here's a Google search link if you want to learn more.
