Energy News: Britain's IT Week nicely summarizes the status of an expected Energy Star program for computer servers. A tiered system and various subcategories are likely, EPA and industry experts agree. (Desktops, laptops, and other computer products are already part of the program as of last month.) This server agenda is in addition to other energy-saving efforts for enterprise IT equipment -- which already require manufacturers to meet Energy Star standards. But at least now there will be a standard specifically designed for the infotech industry rather than being generic. And: what about the other side of the story?
