Phoenix Contact introduced its QUINT SFB family of industrial grade power supplies that feature selective fuse breaking (SFB), a technology that increases system reliability. This technology provides up to six times nominal current for 12 ms, and the short burst of current allows individual circuit breakers to react to overloads. Faulty current paths are shut down while the power supply continues to deliver power to the other loads.
ITOX introduced two motherboards that support Intel Core2 Duo and Quad processors. The BL330-BR and BL330-B microATX form factor boards are designed for embedded applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform, with long-term availability. Using the Intel Q35 Express chipset, each product offers availability through December 2014. In addition, the
Daitron, Inc. announced its ultra-low noise power supply products for noise sensitive applications. The product line reduces ripple noise levels at 3 mV to 5 mV typical (HFS series). Features include high efficiency, low leakage current of 0.04 mA (HFS30), compact size and light weight, RoHS compliance, the meeting of UL/CSA/EN standards (UL60951-1, CSA-C22.1), low environmental impact, Halogen and vinyl chloride free, a wide input voltage range and availability in 30W up to 150W versions.
The Hewlitt-Packard Co. introduced its power distribution rack (PDR) that improves power management in the data center by moving power distribution to the row level. Housed in a single HP 10000 G2 42U rack, the PDR also saves floor space and allows the movement of heat-robbing transformers off the data center floor, improving cooling. Capable of delivering 400A redundantly, the PDR can power several high density racks with shorter cable runs than conventional site level power distribution systems.
Schaffner EMC introduced its FN9233 IEC inlet filter series that offers an attenuation of 6 dB. With high symmetrical and asymmetrical attenuation performance, this filter was developed for devices and switching power supply units that require a high level of interference suppression such as in electrical, test and measurement, office automation and datacom equipment applications. Based on inductors with high saturation resistance and optimal thermal behavior, the series offers a choice of output connections.
Tyco Electronics announced its line of Raychem circuit protection PolySwitch devices for the automotive market. Useful in helping to provide resettable over-current protection for passenger vehicle and heavy truck wire harnesses, the bladed contact device features a 2.8 mm form factor to facilitate one-to-one replacement of mini-sized fuses and type II bimetal circuit protection devices in 12V vehicle systems.
PowerGate LLC released its Cherokee CAR2500 family of +12V/+48V DC front ends and -54V DC rectifiers that offer 2.5 kW of power in a high density package with a power density of 27W/in3 and an efficiency of 92 percent. An onboard microcontroller allows accurate temperature, current and voltage sensing while supporting interfaces such as I2C, PMBus and Ethernet protocols.
Power Sources Unlimited announced over 80 models of its TMR Series wide input DC/DC converters that are available in an ultra compact, encapsulated SIP package. Both 2:1 and 4:1 input ranges are available, handling input voltages from 4.5V DC to 75V DC. Standard models feature single or dual outputs of 3.3V DC, 5V DC, 12V DC, 24V DC, ±5V DC, ±12V DC or ±15V DC.
Panasonic extended the configurations for its high capacity coin cell in its poly-carbonmonofluoride, high-temperature (BR) lithium battery product line. The BR2477A uses polymer materials and construction techniques to provide high temperature tolerance, making it suitable for applications requiring high capacity in harsh environments. The cells are available in four different tab configurations: 2-pin horizontal, 3-pin horizontal, vertical and flat mount.
Delivering up to twice the power of a standard WSL0603-type part, an 0603-sized SMT metal strip power resistor from Vishay Dale is presented as the first of its size to provide a 0.2W power rating. Features include a resistance range from 0.015O to 0.1O at tolerances of ±0.5 and ±1.0 percent with a TCR of ±75ppm/°C and a thermal EMF of less than 3 µV/°C.
JaroThermal’s "Super-Flow Micro" fan measures 15 mm × 15 mm × 4 mm while working at 26,000 rpm and producing .3 CFM of super-cooled air. The low level of power consumption, which comes from a 2.5V DC operating voltage, makes the fan suitable for PDA, cell phone, hand-held test equipment, and portable power suppliers. It was designed to withstand drop testing of
PREMA Semiconductor released its first optical standard component, the PR5001 dual photodiode for the near infrared range with minimum footprint. An active area of two times 0.75 mm × 1.2 mm comes in a small clear DFN package with a size of 1.8 mm × 2.9 mm. These silicon photodiodes have separate cathodes and a common anode. They offer a
Digital View’s HE-1920 fully buffered multi-sync interface controller provides analog and digital connections for large format, high-definition TFT LCDs plus wide operating temperature and voltage ranges, heightened shock and vibration tolerance, and conformal coating for extreme environment applications. These COTS LCD controllers are
