Power Rack for High Capacity Power Distribution

March 7, 2008 5:48 am | Product Releases | Comments

The Hewlitt-Packard Co. introduced its power distribution rack (PDR) that improves power management in the data center by moving power distribution to the row level. Housed in a single HP 10000 G2 42U rack, the PDR also saves floor space and allows the movement of heat-robbing transformers off the data center floor, improving cooling. Capable of delivering 400A redundantly, the PDR can power several high density racks with shorter cable runs than conventional site level power distribution systems.

Inlet Filter Series Offers 6 dB Attenuation

March 7, 2008 5:43 am | Product Releases | Comments

Schaffner EMC introduced its FN9233 IEC inlet filter series that offers an attenuation of 6 dB. With high symmetrical and asymmetrical attenuation performance, this filter was developed for devices and switching power supply units that require a high level of interference suppression such as in electrical, test and measurement, office automation and datacom equipment applications. Based on inductors with high saturation resistance and optimal thermal behavior, the series offers a choice of output connections.

Bladed Devices Provide Resettable Circuit Protection

March 7, 2008 5:33 am | Product Releases | Comments

Tyco Electronics announced its line of Raychem circuit protection PolySwitch devices for the automotive market. Useful in helping to provide resettable over-current protection for passenger vehicle and heavy truck wire harnesses, the bladed contact device features a 2.8 mm form factor to facilitate one-to-one replacement of mini-sized fuses and type II bimetal circuit protection devices in 12V vehicle systems.
