Vaunix Technology Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of RF and microwave test equipment and communications products, has announced the introduction of an X-band signal generator to their Lab Brick product line. The LMS-123 operates from 8 to 12 GHz, and boasts low phase noise, fast 100 microsecond switching time, and fine 100 Hz frequency resolution. The LMS series also offers advanced operating features such as phase-continuous linear frequency sweeping,optional modulation formats, and internal/external triggering.
Other previously released models in the LMS family include the LMS-802 covering 4 to 8 GHz and the LMS-103 covering 5 to 10 GHz. Lab Brick signal generators are known for their compact size, low power consumption, and Universal Serial Bus (USB)compatibility.
Each Lab Brick signal generator measures 4.90 x 3.14 x 1.59 in.(124 x 80 x 40 mm) and weighs less than 1 lb. (0.45 kg). They connect to a host computer by means of a standard USB cable and are controlled via the Graphical User Interface (GUI) software supplied with each unit.The simple GUI features large display windows to quickly view and adjust the signal generator's operating parameters. They are powered and controlled by means of any USB equipped personal computer (PC) or laptop. They can also be run from battery power or from a remote power supply for non-USB embedded or automated applications.
The Lab Brick signal generator product line now covers 20 MHz to 12 GHz. Standard units deliver +10 dBm output power across their full operating frequency ranges. Optional output power levels of +13 dBm and +20 dBm are available on most models. The RoHS-compliant signal generators are supplied in rugged cast aluminum housings complete with mounting holes.
