fanless Panel PCBVM announced its AFL-F08A, an 8” fanless touch screen PC with projected capacitive touch screen options. The unit is based on the Intel Atom N270 processor running at 1.6 GHz, Intel 945GSE and ICH7M chipsets with addressing for up to 2 GB of RAM. The flat bezel design provides a clean front face sealed to IP64, allowing the unit to be installed in many different operating environments. In addition to single point resistive touch screen operation, the unit is available with optional projected capacitive touch screen (PCT) capability, proving multi-touch control when running under Windows 7. Typical applications include consumer information points, ticket machines, kiosks, building automation controllers, and distributed entertainment systems. Internal audio capability is provided, as is a line out audio port, two GigaLAN ports, two USB ports and external SATA drive, and RS-232 and RS232/422/485 searial ports are standard.

The D&D bracer is a fairly quick, fun, nerdy LilyPad project. The final product is a wearable bracer with a display that will randomly generate numbers between 1 and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 in response to arm movement, so it can effectively replace all of the dice in your bag for a D&D session.

Sustainable?
