power amplifier eliminates comp matchCalifornia Eastern Laboratories (CEL) is shipping its uPG2251T6M GaAs power amplifier (PA). According to the company, the PA eliminates the need for RF component matching, which reduces component count and simplifies procurement. The new 2251 PA is suitable for applications such as Bluetooth modules that are designed into notebooks, mobile phones, and headsets as well as 802.15.4/ZigBee modules which have wide applicability in automatic meter reading, wireless security, cable replacement, and intelligent lighting control systems. The PA boosts range for the company’s line of 802.15.4/ZigBee devices. At 2 mm x 2 mm, the 2251 is said to be one of the smallest power amplifiers in the industry.
