fanless ESBVM announced the availability of the ECK-161B, a Core 2 Duo fanless PC for embedded applications such as multi-media displays with audio for retail stores or exhibitions, POS, surveillance, low power control and monitoring for remote locations. The unit has a PCI expansion slot allowing one additional PCI card, up to 155 mm in length to be fitted. The 1.66 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU is complemented by the 945GME chipset ensuring minimum heat dissipation and power consumption. Dual display ports are provided: one standard VGA and the other with a TV-out port supporting component video, S-video and composite video at resolutions up to 1080p. High definition 7.1 channel audio supports two independent outputs. Other features include 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, six USB and four serial ports. Mass storage is by an internal 2.5” HDD and a front-accessible CompactFlash card slot is also standard.

The D&D bracer is a fairly quick, fun, nerdy LilyPad project. The final product is a wearable bracer with a display that will randomly generate numbers between 1 and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 in response to arm movement, so it can effectively replace all of the dice in your bag for a D&D session.

I'd like some genius to define sustainable. Could we count something that we can keep doing for 100 billion years - beyond the death of the Universe as we currently understand such things - as sustainable? How about a billion years?
