Five Watt DCDC convertersMicroPower Direct’s LF500RW Series of SMT 5 W DC/DC converters provides a wide 2:1 input range, tight line/load regulation, output power/overload protection and low noise operation. Twenty-one models operate from wide 2:1 inputs of 9-18 V, 18-36 V and 36-75 V; providing single and dual outputs of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, ±5, ±12 or ±15 VDC. Standard features include efficiency as high as 85 percent, an input/output isolation of 1,500 VDC, tight line/load regulation and low noise operation. All models have continuous short circuit protection (with auto recovery), output power protection, and include a remote On/Off control input. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the LF500RW Series is >1.0 Mhours.

The D&D bracer is a fairly quick, fun, nerdy LilyPad project. The final product is a wearable bracer with a display that will randomly generate numbers between 1 and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 in response to arm movement, so it can effectively replace all of the dice in your bag for a D&D session.

I'd like some genius to define sustainable. Could we count something that we can keep doing for 100 billion years - beyond the death of the Universe as we currently understand such things - as sustainable? How about a billion years?
