direct drive slotless motor systemApplimotion has taken its UTS slotless frameless motors and created a packaged direct drive motor system for applications that require tight speed control and desirable smoothness. These direct drive motors feature very low profile construction. Precision bearings and encoder up with more than 30,000,000 counts per revolution are routine. Low axial and radial run out make them appropriate for pointing and scanning applications. They operate from industry standard brushless DC or brushless AC drivers from 12 V to 300 V and can be wound for low speed or high speed applications. A large through hole that can be used for pass through of optics or to be used with a slip ring for passing sensor wires through the motors core.

The D&D bracer is a fairly quick, fun, nerdy LilyPad project. The final product is a wearable bracer with a display that will randomly generate numbers between 1 and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 in response to arm movement, so it can effectively replace all of the dice in your bag for a D&D session.
