Ryan W. Vaughan has been named assistant director of development for the Engineering Development Office at Texas A&M University.

Vaughan will work with two of the 12 departments in the Dwight Look College of Engineering: engineering technology and industrial distribution, and industrial and systems engineering.

“We are very pleased to have Ryan join our Engineering Development team. We feel certain that he will excel in helping our prospective donors match their interests with the needs of our departments and help them make an investment that will pay dividends for our students for many years to come,” said Don Birkelbach, assistant vice president of development with the Texas A&M Foundation, who heads the Engineering Development Office.

Vaughan previously was an academic advisor in the university’s Department of Sport Management. His responsibilities included ensuring that undergraduates took the correct courses and made satisfactory progress, discussing curriculum options and providing information on university and departmental procedures and regulations.

Prior to that he was a business associate II in the athletics business office on campus.

Vaughan holds two degrees from Texas A&M: a B.S. in sport management (2007) and an M.S. in higher education administration (2009).

The D&D bracer is a fairly quick, fun, nerdy LilyPad project. The final product is a wearable bracer with a display that will randomly generate numbers between 1 and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 in response to arm movement, so it can effectively replace all of the dice in your bag for a D&D session.

Sustainable?
Sustainable?

I'd like some genius to define sustainable. Could we count something that we can keep doing for 100 billion years - beyond the death of the Universe as we currently understand such things - as sustainable? How about a billion years?
