AppGate Network Security, a company within The Cryptzone Group, will in the next version of its Security Server support Apple's iPhone@ as a client platform. Now, users of the iPhone will be able to securely login to their company network to safely gain access to corporate information, email, calendar functions, etc. This development adds to the wide range of mobile platforms already supported by the AppGate Security Server, which includes Nokia Series 60 (Symbian) and Windows Mobile.

"This is a much sought-after feature from our customers," says Tomas Olovsson, CTO at AppGate. "There are a lot of limitations on what applications can do on an iPhone, which has been a challenge for us as we developed this functionality. In the near future companies will use the iPhone as an integral part of the corporate infrastructure, further strengthening our position as the leading provider of mobile security solutions for businesses."

The AppGate Security Server delivers a very high level of security by encrypting all data traffic and providing granular control over exactly what users can access. It can provide a secure connection from the home office, mobile VPN for secure access to information from "smart phones", or a secure connection inside the company network. Regardless of where the user is located, the Security Server controls all access from a single, policy-driven system, providing secure access to business critical information and control of connected devices in one comprehensive solution.
