Nokia broadens patent claims against Apple

Nokia Corp. is broadening a legal dispute it already has with Apple Inc. over the iPhone, saying almost all of the company's other products also violate the Finnish phone maker's patents. Nokia said Tuesday that it has filed a complaint against Apple with the U.S. International Trade Commission, alleging Apple's iPhone, iPods and computers all violate Nokia's intellectual property rights.

Bookseller Barnes & Noble Inc plans to issue $100 gift certificates to people who won't receive its Nook electronic reader by December 24, if they had ordered it on time. The company, which has been bedeviled with problems in producing and delivering the e-reader in time for the holiday season, earlier this month postponed the in-store debut of the $259 device.
