Sullins Electronics announced the expansion of their edgecard connector portfolio to include a high-temperature, dual-readout series that accepts 0.093" (2.36 mm) thick daughtercards. These edgecard connectors are engineered for high-temperature applications such as straight and right angle card extenders. Made of high-density dielectric materials, parts can be ordered to withstand 150°C continual heat.
QA Technology Co. announced the expansion of its integraMate hyperboloid contact and connector product family with the addition of 1.5 mm size contacts and a 3-pin power connector. The 1.5 mm size has a current rating in excess of 12A, and it incorporates a 12-wire hyperboloid cage. The core technology is a hyperboloid wire cage contact design that offers a low mating force, high cycle life and superior resistance to shock and vibration.
Molex, Inc. announced its HD Mezz and SEARAY board-to-board connectors for applications with high pin-count devices on mezzanine cards or module printed circuit boards (PCB). They provide multiple benefits on personality or expansion cards for use in networking and telecommunication equipment, mid- and high-range computers, medical equipment, military products and industrial controllers. These connectors simplify PCB routing without sacrificing performance, and they provide advanced electrical and mechanical features.
Master Bond introduced its LTX-117G low cost, electrically conductive, water-based adhesive, sealant and coating. It is a one-part, UV stable latex adhesive where the electrical conductivity is achieved by the incorporation of non-metallic graphite filler. This polymer system dries by water evaporation at ambient temperatures to provide cost effective coatings with controlled electrical properties, including use in ESD anti-static systems. It has a service temperature of -60°F to +250°F.
FCI enlarged its high density Compact D series to 62 contact connectors in straight receptacle versions to meet the need for higher density connectors and as a complement to its press-fit D-sub range in 78 contacts. Provided with press-fit terminations, this connector helps to avoid the cost and time of an additional wave solder process. It is compatible with any PCB thickness starting from 1.6 mm, an advantage for thick backplanes.
Binder-USA announced the addition of shielded connectors with screw termination to its Series 768 M8 Euro-style connectors. These connectors allow for shielded connections that protect analog and sensitive signals from EMI interference in industrial Ethernet or Fieldbus networks. The shielding of the connectors is simplified with the use of an iris-shaped spring.
Phoenix Contact announced its PLC-RELAY, a high-current terminal block relay with plug-in SPDT contacts for applications requiring a nominal current rating up to 10A or those that need to improve the electrical life of the contacts. Measuring 14 mm wide, the relay’s contacts are larger than a standard 6 mm terminal block relay. These contacts help to extend service intervals two to three times longer than the standard relay, while adding security for uncertain load conditions at the same time. They are a reliable alternative to ice cube relays, and they feature a plug-in bridging
Taiyo Yuden USA, Inc. announced its model CKP2520 multilayer chip power inductors that achieve better performance compared to the company’s previous CKP series parts. With an EIA 1008 case size footprint of 2.5 mm × 2.0 mm and a maximum height of 1.0 mm, the devices facilitate the design of thinner, higher-performance, multifunction cell phones, digital cameras and other battery-powered portable electronic equipment.
Datatronic Distribution, Inc. introduced its DR371-1 and DR371-2 series of radial leaded, molded inductors that combine high performance over a wide inductance range in challenging EMI operating environments with rugged packaging, ROHS compliant lead material and long-life. Depending on the specific model, the inductors feature an inductance range from 0.22 mH to 33 mH. The DCR is specified from 0.59 mohm to 42 mohm maximum over a maximum current rating from 5A to 38A.
Penn Engineering introduced SI threaded inserts that provide strong, reusable metal threads in plastics to allow for subsequent access to assemblies when required. These brass, stainless steel, or aluminum threaded inserts serve as practical alternatives to permanent joining methods, such as adhesives or rivets. Components can be removed and re-attached quickly and easily utilizing mating hardware. Applications include computer and terminal boards; automotive and aerospace components; electronics, medical, and communications equipment
