White LEDs for a Variety of Applications

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors announced its portfolio of LEDs in warm white colors. All devices feature increased color stability, long life and low energy consumption. OSTAR provides bright, warm white light that is suitable for downlight while also giving rooms a comfortable welcoming atmosphere. Power TOPLEDs are small, low power devices, measuring 3.4 mm × 3.4 mm, producing 2.9 lm at 2,700/3,000K, 3.6 lm at 3,500K and 4.1 lm at 4,200K at an operating current of 30 mA.

Electroluminescent Lamp Drivers for Backlighting Applications

Micrel Inc. launched its MIC4830 and MIC4832 series of 180 Vpp and 220 Vpp low noise electroluminescent lamp (EL) drivers that drive panels of up to 4 sq. in. or greater. Applications include mobile phones, PDAs, pagers, calculators, multimedia players and remote controls. High efficiency is achieved by consuming a typical supply current of 45 mA.

Intense Ltd. announced its Intense-HPD Series 6100, 980 nm high power single emitter laser diodes. They are high brightness, single mode lasers with up to 200 mW of kink-free power, and they provide high beam quality with low astigmatism and a Gaussian far field. Applications include print and imaging, point-to-point communications, medical imaging, optical storage, sensing and detection, and aerospace and defense.

MicroMo Electronics, Inc. announced its Series ADM1220S miniature stepper motor with an external motor diameter of 12 mm and a length of 17.2 mm. It has a holding torque with current of 2.4 mNm, and it can achieve a boost torque of 4.1 mNm. The motor offers 20 full steps per revolution in full step mode, and it is capable of 160 microsteps per revolution with a maximum error of ±0.2° at speeds ranging from 10 rpm to 6,000 rpm.

AlazarTech, Inc. announced its ATS9462, a four-lane PCI Express (PCIe) waveform digitizer for OEMs and R&D applications in RF signal analysis, biomedical imaging, OCT, ultrasonics, radar and lidar. The instrument provides 720 MB/s data throughput to PC memory. It has two simultaneous analog inputs that can each be sampled at rates up to 180 MS/s (one 16 bit 180 MSPS ADC per channel), providing a signal-to-noise ratio in excess of 73 dB.
