MagSil Corporation announced today that the litigation between MagSil and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), on the one hand, and Seagate Technology and Maxtor Corporation, on the other hand, has been satisfactorily resolved by an out of court settlement, and the Seagate and Maxtor entities have received licenses to the patents at issue in the lawsuit.
Handling 1W, 3W, and higher LEDs, the MIC3230/31/32 family of high-brightness LED drivers targets solid-state lighting and general illumination applications. The series features an operating input voltage range from 6 V to 45 V, a feedback voltage of 250 mV, and is capable of driving an output up to 70 W. The MIC3230/31 has an adjustable operating frequency from 10 kHz to 1 MHz
A recent survey of electrical and lighting contractors demonstrates their importance in the specifying and recommendation of LED lighting products for building projects. According to the survey respondents, contractors are involved in recommending LED lighting more than 70% of the time. Yet a majority of respondents said they would be interested in receiving more training on product installation, benefits, and layout
Supporting 2G, 3G, and 4 G networks, the BTS Master MT8221B handheld base station analyzer from Anritsu provides a 20-MHz demodulation capability for LTE and WiMax technologies and a 30-MHz zero-span IF output for external demodulation of other wideband signals.
Featuring two double-spring terminals, the VAZ-T1-FK-CLAMP1 AS-interface flat-to-flat cable splitter box from Pepperl+Fuchs has a current rating of 8 A.

To protect against skimming and eavesdropping attacks, federal and state officials recommend that Americans keep their e-passports tightly shut and store their RFID-tagged passport cards and enhanced driver's licenses in "radio-opaque" sleeves.
Providing machine designers the capability to download and run board-level C-Motion motion programs directly, the Prodigy/CME PCI card from Performance Motion Devices provides Ethernet functionality to expand connectivity options. The cards support multiple motor types, including DC brush, brushless DC, microstepping, and step motors and are available in 1, 2, 3, and 4-axis versions.
Providing a current accuracy of +/- 3 percent, the HV9961 constant-control LED driver integrated circuit has an average-mode control system allowing the device to require no loop compensation or high-side current sensing.
Climbing into his Volvo, outfitted with a Matrics antenna and a Motorola reader he'd bought on eBay for $190, Chris Paget cruised the streets of San Francisco with this objective: To read the identity cards of strangers, wirelessly, without ever leaving his car. It took him 20 minutes to strike hacker's gold. Zipping past Fisherman's Wharf, his scanner detected, then downloaded to his laptop, the unique serial numbers of two pedestrians' electronic U.S. passport cards embedded with radio frequency identification, or RFID, tags.
NASA scrubbed space shuttle Endeavour's Saturday evening launch after lightning struck at least 11 times near the seaside launch pad. NASA technicians found no damage after an electrical storm Friday afternoon, but said they will need at least another day to check critical systems. A mission management team plans to meet early Sunday to determine if all the testing has been completed and whether to fuel Endeavour for a possible Sunday evening launch. Liftoff would be at 7:13 p.m. if NASA attempts to launch Sunday.
Hackers who commandeer your computer are bad enough. Now scientists worry that someday, they’ll try to take over your brain.
