LED Lightpipes Prevent Color Mixing

April 4, 2008 6:33 am | Product Releases | Comments

Using optional barriers that prevent color mixing from adjacent rows Elma Electronics’ LED Lightpipes provide distinct color output. The lightpipes have thin polycarbonate barriers which are configurable, block intruding light from other tube lanes, and add strength; resulting in clear, segregated color definition. The lightpipes offer the flexibility to have barriers between some or all of pipes, allowing the ability to mix and match.

High Accuracy Resistance Temperature Detector Simulator

April 4, 2008 6:31 am | Product Releases | Comments

Pickering Interfaces introduced its Model 40-262 high accuracy resistance temperature detector simulator that is an 18-channel variable resistor module designed to simulate the operation of PT100 and PT1000 RTDs with resolution and accuracy in the PXI form factor. The detector provides an accuracy of more than 0.1 percent for all resistance settings, allowing RTDs to be simulated with accuracy. It uses a design principal that combines fine and coarse control mechanisms in combination with a calibration system to achieve its performance.

Power Monitor Measures Current and Voltage

April 4, 2008 6:27 am | Product Releases | Comments

Linear Technology Corp. introduced its LTC4151 high side power monitor that measures current and input voltages from 7V to 80V. The monitor uses an internal 12-bit ADC to continuously measure both high side current and input voltage to give a true power reading. It replaces prior units that use costly current sense amplifiers with a separate ADC, a hot-swap controller with an ADC, or an ADC with a floating ground.

Precalibrated Position Sensor Serves as Potentiometer Replacement

April 4, 2008 6:16 am | Product Releases | Comments

Macro Sensors introduced its LP750 series position sensors that are hermetically sealed, frictionless, and they can serve as long-life replacements for failing potentiometers in a range of industrial position measurement applications such as machine tool positioning, hydraulic cylinder positioning, valve position sensing and automatic assembly equipment. Offering frictionless position feedback similar to the potentiometer, these sensors have no parts that wear out, offering unlimited cycle life and greater performance than a potentiometer.

Vision Sensors Perform in Complex Inspection Applications

April 4, 2008 6:10 am | Product Releases | Comments

Pepperl+Fuchs introduced its Model VOS300 series vision sensors that combine a camera, illumination, digital outputs, process data and five evaluation methods into a single, rugged sensor housing. The result is an out-of-the-box vision sensing system that is easily configured without programming knowledge and operated without the need for detailed image processing experience. The sensors deliver advanced functionality in a number of complex inspection applications where traditional photoelectric sensors are unsuitable for use.
